The Effect of Differences in Medical Service Level and Perception of the Health Care System on the Selection of Medical Institutions: Focusing on Outpatient Services

Abstract
This study aims to investigate the difference between the level of medical service and the perception of the health care system by medical institution, focusing on the experience of using outpatient services, and the effect of the level of medical service and the perception of the public health system on the choice of medical institution. Present study used secondary data from the Health Care Experience Survey 2020. The data were analyzed using SPSS 26.0 program.
The research results are as follows. First, in using outpatient services, they had positive experiences about the comfort and comfort of medical facilities, services of administrative departments, and recommendations for use of medical institutions. Second, while they are aware of the health care system and are generally satisfied with and trust the health care system, they are aware that the health care system needs to be improved, and the awareness of chronic disease management services at local clinics is low. Third, satisfaction with the health care system was found to favor hospitals. In addition, it was found that dental hospitals were preferred when choosing a medical institution if they felt the comfort and coziness of the facility at the dental hospital and were aware of the chronic disease management service of the local clinic. Medical institutions that felt the need to improve the health care system were also found to be dental hospitals.
The implications of this study are as follows. Medical institutions need to come up with measures to make the atmosphere of medical facilities feel comfortable and cozy, and the administrative departments need to make efforts to improve their services. In addition, it is necessary to make efforts to improve the credibility and satisfaction of the health care system by promoting the benefits of the health care system in detail along with the government's continuous efforts on ways to improve the health care system.
